Since today is one of those Oh-God-when-is-work-going-to-be-over-so-I-can-drag-myself-to-the-gym-and-clean-the-house-and-call-it-a-day days, I’m just going to post a picture of the teaser medal the Derby Festival Half Marathon posted on their Facebook page and then call it a day for real.
I am looking forward to the half marathon – I’ve been forcing myself to do speed workouts and be serious about then for the first time in my life, so at least that is keeping me going – but other than that, I think I need a little shake-up. I’d love to do more yoga, but it’s so expensive if you go to a place where you actually practice (as opposed to my gym, where they eventually coax you into downward dog and then send you on your way). I tried Zumba a few weeks ago with my friend Sarah, so that’s also an option, but it’s not my first choice. I want to try kickboxing.
Anyone done it? Any advice? I don’t know where I can go in Nashville, but I’m going to try and get serious about looking for an instructor!
And of course, running is still a beautiful thing that I want to share with at-risk girls in my community – I signed up to be a running buddy with Girls on the Run and I couldn’t be more excited to meet my buddy! Only a few more days!
