Look, mom: I’m a teacher!

Here are some quick updates on recent past, present and future teaching projects:

–       I survived Teach for America’s Institute! TFA requires all new teachers to go to a 5-week summer training, which, for us, was at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Other than the long hours, it really wasn’t all that bad, though I’m definitely glad to be back at home, where I can get back into my yoga/blogging about yoga schedule.

I miss those little pumpkins already.

–       I taught my first class at Hot Yoga Plus this morning. There were some definite areas for improvement, but overall it went well. The best part was that the studio owner, my friend from yoga school, and my sweet sweet husband all came to support me.

–       My first day of training at my new Kindergarten is tomorrow! I’ve worked with our principal doing operational jobs since the beginning of this year, and I’ve met almost everyone on staff, so luckily there are no nerves – I’m just excited! I’m going to teach little people how to read!

More to come. Happy summer!

  1. Congrats! Teaching is the best thing in the world. I have taught phys ed for the past 7 years. When you can integrate both fitness and helping others it is a winning combination.

  2. I’m so happy for you. Everything in your life right now is things you love: A wonderful husband, yoga, and teaching children. Life is good.
