Easy Like Sunday Morning

To my Sunday morning regulars:

Hot Yoga Plus is changing their schedule to double the amount of classes offered – and changes for the studio mean changes for lil ole’ me as well. I’m still teaching there (duh!) but I have a new class time. I have a feeling this means I won’t see you as often, so I thought I’d share how I feel about you.

It’s only been about a year and a half since I began teaching the Sunday morning class, but I don’t exaggerate when I say it is the best hour of my week, every week. On Sundays I am out of town, I miss your energy all week. When I am with you at 8:15, you are the most important people to me – your effort, your intentions, and your support never go unnoticed or unappreciated. And when you do something that you didn’t think you could do, it makes me smile for days.

I have the nasty habit of enjoying wonderful people in my life and never telling them about their profound impact on me. I know I probably won’t see you as much any more, but I just wanted to let you know how your energy affects others. You may go into your yoga classes never noticing how you touch your teacher, and that’s just wrong – you should know. You’re remarkable. Many of you were with me in my first few weeks and months as a yoga instructor and you kept coming back. Do you know what that means to me?!

So this is just a simple little note on the internet to say thanks. Thank you for sharing your time with me. Thank you for trying new postures and breathing exercises and chants. Thanks for putting up with my kindergarten-teacher antics (“If you can hear me, clap once…”) and letting me adjust your triangles. Thanks for sticking with those forearm planks – I know they can hurt. Thanks for letting me grow and letting me see your growth.

Hope to see you later – same day, new time! Sundays at 6 PM – be there!
